Developing a Lifelong Skill in Cooking
Track 1: One-to-one, Fully Hands-on
Learning to cook hands-on within the familiarity and comfort of your kitchen, with a chef by your side to coach you through every process and step at your own speed, builds self-sufficiency and a lifelong skill. It is never too early to introduce good food preparation skills and good eating habits to your children, and competency in these areas is especially valuable for a teen going on to college who will need to take care of oneself. The client picks the cuisine, dish and/or technique of interest, and the chef will design a teaching menu and bring the grocery. Instructional session can be scheduled independently, or easily incorporated into any personal chef service session.
Track 2: Group Learning, Demo or Hands-on
Group cooking classes are wonderful backdrops for get-togethers. A more hands-off format allows you and your guests to learn – by sight, smell, and best of all, taste! – while still being at ease to socialize with drinks and appetizers in hand, and warm chatters drifting about, all while the chef prepares the subject course right in front of you for shared savoring upon completion. It is perfect for a girls’ night in, weekend opener, or birthday dinner party. The level of active learning can be intensified as client desires and selected courses and kitchen space permit. A more interactive format is especially fun, engaging, and educational for a children’s birthday party.
